Gravel concrete is concrete in which gravel forms the coarse aggregate. It is often finished with a washed, exposed gravel surface as a decorative treatment, producing what is known as exposed-aggregate paving or decorative concrete.
Characteristics
- Gravel aggregate — rounded gravel provides the coarse stone in the mix
- Structural or decorative — used both as ordinary concrete and as a finished surface
- Exposed-aggregate finish — the surface cement is washed away to reveal the gravel

Exposed-aggregate gravel concrete is popular for paths, drives, patios and public paving, where an attractive, non-slip and durable surface is wanted.
