Glass fleece (fibreglass fleece) and glass fabric (fibreglass wallpaper or lining paper) are fibreglass wall coverings that are glued to walls and ceilings and then painted over. Both provide a durable, crack-bridging finish.
Features
The difference lies mainly in the build-up and appearance:
- Glass fleece is a thin, non-woven fleece that bridges small cracks and creates an even substrate
- Glass fabric is woven, has a clear structure or pattern, is stronger and highly hard-wearing
- Both are crack-bridging and fire-safe
- Both are moisture-resistant and can be repainted multiple times
Application
Glass fleece and glass fabric are used for durable, low-maintenance finishing:
- Renovation of cracked or uneven walls
- Offices and high-traffic areas
- Wet rooms and ceilings
- As a hard-wearing, repaintable top layer
