Geolock is a sheet-pile / cofferdam system built from interlocking profiles that connect edge to edge to form a continuous wall for temporary or permanent retention of soil and water.
The individual profiles are driven, pressed or vibrated into the ground and joined through interlocking connections, producing a wall that resists lateral earth pressure and, where sealed, water pressure. Because the elements lock together, the wall behaves as a continuous barrier rather than a series of separate piles.
How it works
Each profile hooks into its neighbour along a vertical interlock. Once a run of profiles is installed, the assembly:
- Holds back the surrounding soil during excavation.
- Reduces or stops groundwater inflow into the working area.
- Provides a stable face for construction below ground level.
Application
Geolock systems are used wherever ground or water must be held back reliably.
- Excavations: securing the sides of deep building pits.
- Bank and quay protection: stabilising the edges of rivers, canals and waterfronts.
- Cofferdams: creating dry working areas within or beside water.
- Permanent retaining walls: long-term earth retention in infrastructure works.
The system can be applied both as a temporary support that is later removed and as a permanent structural element left in place.
