A trellis is a lattice framework of wooden or plastic slats used as a garden screen, climbing plant support or decorative panel. The slats are arranged in a criss-cross or diamond pattern, creating an open structure that lets light and air through while still providing privacy.
Types of trellis
| Type | Pattern | Application |
|---|---|---|
| Diagonal trellis | Diamond (45°) | Most common, decorative |
| Square trellis | Right-angle grid (90°) | Neater, more modern |
| Privacy trellis | Tighter slat spacing | More privacy, less light |
| Arched trellis | With curved top | Romantic, classic |
