Facade panels are sheet-shaped cladding elements that are mounted as large panels onto a support framework on the facade. They are available in materials such as fibre cement, HPL (high pressure laminate), composite, metal and ceramic. Thanks to their size and dry mounting method, they offer a fast and sleek alternative to traditional facade cladding.
Application
Facade panels are mainly used as a ventilated outer skin in new construction and renovation. The panels are fixed to a substructure of timber or metal battens, with an air cavity between the panel and the insulation. This cavity drains moisture and keeps the construction dry. Because the panels are available in large sizes, installation is quick and results in a smooth, modern facade surface with few joints. They are used in both residential and commercial buildings.
Application details
Facade panels are low-maintenance, colourfast and resistant to the weather. The choice of materials and finishes is wide: from wood grain to flat, coloured sheets. Fibre cement and HPL are lightweight, while ceramic and metal give a more robust appearance. The panels can be fixed visibly or with concealed fasteners, depending on the desired facade look.
